Equities gain N21bn an Total leads advancers

The bull puts up a level of resistance today on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) to ensure that investors in equities on the bourse recorded  a gain of N21 billion as the Market Capitalisation and All-Share Index which closed on Wednesday at N9.509 trillion and 27,687.80 basis points closed today at N9.531 trillion and 27,751.34 respectively.

A total of 155.8 million shares valued at N1.526 billion were exchanged by investors in 3,320 deals

The most appreciated stock of the day was TOTAL which began the day trading at N206                to close at N222.6            as it gained N16.6; MOBIL opened at N162 and closed at N170.1          as it added N8.1 to its per share value; NB rose from N132.55 to close at N135 as it recorded  per share gain of N2.45. GUINNESS opened the day trading at N93.99 and closed at N95 as it gained N1.01 per share while WAPCO which opened the day trading at N51 closed at N51.6 having gained N0.6 per share.

On the flip side, INTBREW led the decliners for the day as it came down from its opening value of N19.34              to close at N18.38 as it suffered N0.96 per  share depreciation; FLOURMILL opened the day trading at N20.43 and closed at N20 having been marked down by N0.43; FO, from its opening value of N167.22 it closed at N166.82 per share it lose N0.4 per share; GUARANTY from its opening value of N24.06, it closed at N23.88 as it made a loss of N0.18 per share while UBN which recorded a loss of N0.18 per share closed at N4.00 as against its opening value of N4.18 per share.

The most traded stock of the day was FBNH which accounted for 30.754 million shares with the value attached of N101.854 million; FIDELITYBK traded 23.120 million shares with the value attached of N24.468 million; GUARANTY traded 14.148 million shares valued at N340.595 million; TRANSCORP traded 10.385 million shares valued at N12.590 million while UCAP traded 9.330 million shares valued at N23.165 million.
