After some sessions of losses, respite somehow came the way of investors on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Wednesday as they were able to recoup some losses. The market All-Share Index and Market Capitalisation which closed at 27,272.14 basis points and N9.367 trillion on Tuesday rose to 27,421.83 basis points and N9.418 trillion respectively on Wednesday resulting in N51 billion value appreciation.
The market witnessed a total trade of 391.375 million shares valued at N3.395 billion in 3,103 deals.
The most valued stock of the day was NESTLE which began the day trading at N820.00 and closed at N825 as it gained N5.00 per share. TOTAL added N4.00 to its opening value as it closed at N240.00 per share from its opening value of N236.00 per share. NB began the day trading at N130.30 per share and closed at N132.95 as it gained N2.65 per share. DANGCEM which opened the day trading at N179.00 per share closed at N180.04 as it gained N1.04 per share while OKOMUOIL added N1.00 to its opening value of N35.00 per share to close at N36 .00 per share.
The decliners chart for the day was led by 7UP which recorded a loss of N11.64 per share and from the value of N119.5 it began the day trading, it closed at N107.86 per share. CAP which began the day trading at N37.00 per share ended at N33.4 per share as it was marked down by N3.6 by investors; PZ closed at N19.00 per share from its opening value of N19.55 as it was marked down by N0.55 per share; DANGSUGAR moved down from its opening value of N6.8 per share to close at N6.67 as it recorded a loss 0.13 per share and FLOURMILL lost N0.13 in the day trading and from its opening value of N19.95, it closed the day at N19.82.
The most traded stock of the day was WAPIC with 89.318 million shares valued at N44.946 million; GUARANTY accounted for 83.431 million shares at N2.004 billion; FBNH traded 62.859 million shares at N207.605 million; UBA accounted for 32.378 million shares valued at N148.255 million while ACCESS traded 30.431 million shares in N170.401 million.
