Nigerian Breweries Plc has announced a new partnership with five European football clubs as its official partners in the area of football in Nigeria.
The partnership agreement, the first of its kind in breweries in Nigeria, is said to be a milestone for clubs and the company. The partnership will the clubs and Star work together to facilitate greater excitement, build closer and deeper engagement between the European club and lovers of football in Nigeria.
Speaking on the partnership, the Marketing Director, Nigerian Breweries, Franco Maria-Maggie said that the partnership was another demonstration of its commitment to its consumers with the biggest passion for football.
“We are very happy and proud to make this announcement. The overall objective for us in this partnership is to bring more excitement to our consumers. As you know already, football is Nigeria’s biggest passion and we have supported this passion for many years. Our ground-breaking support for the fans through the ‘Shine on Nigeria’ campaign during the 2014 World Cup is an example of how far we can go to galvanize and support fans of football all across Nigeria.
“Our commitment to it remains total and we believe this partnership, the first of its kind in our category in Nigeria is a clear attestation. We are excited b y this partnership but we are even more excited about the amazing opportunities this opens up for our consumers, lovers of good football and the Nigerian football eco-system in general,” he said.

He stated that over the years, Star has reaffirmed its commitment to football in Nigeria through many initiatives and platforms. Its campaign to rally Nigeria fans during the 2014 World Cup is still reverberating till this day. Its Star Super Fans Show also showcased and rewarded football fans for their passion and knowledge of the game.
The Five clubs are Arsenal Football Club, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus.
