National Assembly agrees to invite President Buhari over recession
The Senate has agreed with the House of Representatives to invite President Muhammadu Buhari to appear before a Joint Session of the National Assembly in Abuja to explain steps the Executive is taking to end economic recession in the country.
The decision was taken on Thursday plenary and awaiting the Presidency reply as to when President Buhari will address the lawmakers.
Two weeks ago, the House passed a resolution asking President Buhari appearance before a joint session of the National Assembly to present the strategies for addressing the country’s prevailing economic crisis in response to economic recession.
I hope the president would be bold to tell the national Assembly that one of the steps needed to take is to slash their huge allowances.
