Market closes flat on Friday as investors stake N1.5bn

The Nigerian Stock Exchange All-Share Index (NSE ASI) which opened at 27,854.78 basis points on Thursday closed the week trading activities on Friday at 27,861.03 basis points even the Market capitalisation which opened the day trading on Friday at N9.57 trillion closed the day flat at N9.57 trillion.

A total of 220.851 million shares were traded on Friday at N1.534 billion in 2,381.00 deals.

The top-five  gainers in the day trading transaction was led by 7UP which rose from its opening value of N154.5 to close at N159.9 as it gained N5.4; GUINNESS rose from  N80.06 to close at N83 as it was marked up by N2.94 per share.

GUARANTY with a gain of N0.64 per share to its opening value of N22.86 it closed at N23.5. OANDO added N0.15 to its opening value to close at N5.31 from its opening value of N5.16 while MRS which opened the day trading at N39.9 closed at N40.00 per share as it added N0.1 per share.

The decliners for the day were led by FO and from its opening value of N152, it closed trading at N145.12 as it was marked down by N6.88; WAPCO recorded a loss per share of N3.1 and it ended the day trading at N42.5 from the opening value of N45.6.

CADBURY which opened the day trading at N16.49 closed at N15.67 as it was marked down by N0.82; NB which opened the day at N149.2 per share closed at N148.7 having recorded a loss of N0.5; UACN closed at N20.4 from its value of N20.8 as it recorded a loss of N0.4 per share.

The top- five trade of the day was led by DIAMONDBNK which traded 85.188 million shares at N102.217 million; ACCESS accounted for 30.782 million shares valued at N172.629 million; GUARANTY accounted for 21.218 million shares at N502. 676 million; TRANSCORP  traded 11.931 million shares at the attached value of N11.940 million and FBNH traded 10.757 million shares at N32.395 million.
