Market closes flat as investors make N7bn gain
The Nigerian Stock Exchange All Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization increased by 0.08 per cent on Wednesday while the Year-to-Date return stood at -5.31 per cent, as investors managed to recoup only N7 billion out of much they have lost of recent.
The All Share Index closed at 27,120.39 against the previous close of 27,098.52 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦9.315 trillion against previous close of ₦9.308 trillion.
Volume traded increased by 40.96 per cent from 113.499 million to 159.989 million, while the total value of stock traded increased by 41.15 per cent from ₦1.234 billion to ₦1.741 billion in 2,396 deals.
The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 118.81 million shares exchanged for ₦0.469 billion. Consumer Goods came next with 19.027 million shares traded for ₦1.122 billion, Conglomerates, Services, Oil And Gas sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.
FBNH, Unilever, Transcorp, UBA and Access were the most active stocks by volume. Etranzact, Learnafrca, Unilever, Dangsugar and Afriprud emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while Jberger, UACN, Caphotel, Livestock and Ikejahotel topped the losers chart.
