We’ll continue to propagate gospel of Christ – Governor Dickson
Governor Henry Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State at the weekend reaffirmed his administration’s commitment towards encouraging the propagation of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
He stated this during the dedication of Mount Ephraim House of Prayer Cathedral of the Eternal Sacred Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church in Yenagoa.
Other dignitaries at the occasion include the Deputy Governor, Rear Admiral Gboribiogha John Jonah; Senator Foster Ogola; Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Konbowei Benson; a former Federal Permanent Secretary, Ambassador Boladei Igali; former Minister of Aviation, Alabo Tonye Graham Douglas and former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gen. Ike Nwachukwu (Rtd).
Speaking at the event, Governor Dickson described the cathedral as a masterpiece and a befitting edifice that would promote the worship of God in the state.
He expressed gratitude to the leadership of the church, particularly its Prelate and Chancellor to the Baba Aladura, His Eminence Dr. Ephraim Faloughi, for their contribution towards the building and completion of the cathedral.
In his address, Faloughi expressed delight over the completion of the edifice, noting that the foundation stone for the cathedral was laid on the 1st of February 2014 amidst several challenges.
As the most senior Bayelsan in the church, Dr. Faloughi expressed appreciation to God for the successful dedication of the cathedral complex.
He described the dedication ceremony as a joyous occasion, especially for him and many others who were involved in conceptualizing, organizing and directing the ground-breaking ceremony.
The Prelate of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church Worldwide, Baba Aladura Lazarus Onyeleonu and other high ranking officials of the church had earlier paid a courtesy visit to Governor Dickson in Government House, Yenagoa.
