Shares traded on NSE down by 48.7% as investors lose N51bn
The Nigerian Stock Exchange All-Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization decreased by 0.58 per cent, while the year-to-date return stood at -6.29 per cent.
The All-Share Index closed at 25,183.10 against the previous close of 25,329.08 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦8.715 trillion against previous close of ₦8.766 trillion.
Volume traded decreased by 48.70 per cent from 444.505 million to 228.024 million, while the total value of stock traded decreased by 34.47 per cent from ₦3.649 billion to ₦2.391 billion in 2,958 deals.
The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 206.638 million shares exchanged for ₦1.805 billion. Consumer Goods came next with 9.47 million shares traded for ₦0.495 billion, Conglomerates, Oil and Gas, Services sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.
Zenithbank, UBA, UCAP, NEM and Guaranty were the most active stocks by volume. Vitafoam, Npfmcrfbk, Seplat, NEM and NAHCO emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while Cadbury, Guinness, FCMB, Zenithbank and FBNH topped the losers chart.
