Bayelsa declares N4.1bn surplus revenue for March
The Bayelsa State Government has declared N4.1 billion revenue surplus for March, 2017.
Governor Seriake Dickson disclosed this on Thursday in Yenagoa, the state capital at the monthly transparency media briefing for March. He said that the state declared N983 million as internally- Generated Revenue in February.
Dickson, who was represented by his Deputy, Rear Admiral Gboribiogha John Jonah (Rtd), announced a gross inflow of N11.5 billion from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC).
He said the FAAC comprised the statutory allocation of N1.3 billion, derivation N8 billion, VAT N619 million while the Excess Crude was N126 million.
On civil servants salary for the month, Dickson said it gulped N3.6 billion, political appointees was N216 million while money transferred to Local Government Areas was N612 million.
He noted that the state government was committed to the wellbeing of its workers, saying that both the staffs at the state-owned Institution, Niger Delta University (NDU) were also paid.
“We have also paid the staff members at the state university; I must tell you that all salaries for March have been settled,” he said.
