Patito’s Gang radar focuses on parastatals

The radar of Patito’s Gang focuses its searchlight this weekend on the usefulness or otherwise of parastatals in the country.
According to Senior Vice President, CVL (Centre for Values in Leadership), Mr. Rasheed Adegbenro who disclosed in a press statement said the weekly television platform for public conversation on policy issues as usual draws on its team of expert panellist to examine the subject: Have Nigerian Parastatals Delivered?
Patito’s Gang is a weekly television broadcast creative work of renowned political-economist – Prof. Pat Utomi who is also the anchor of the programme.
The panel of discussants reviewed the quality of work of the numerous parastatals vis-s vis national development objectives which informed their establishment. The panelists queried the duplication of roles and responsibilities and supported the call for restructuring of the parastatals to meet new development aspiration of the country.
The unnecessary burden created by the drive for revenue by the parastatals was identified as one of the challenges that contribute to the high cost of doing business and a disincentive to growth of investment in Nigeria’s economy.
Patito’s Gang Anchor, Prof. Pat Utomi will moderate a panel discussion on the topic and the programme was scheduled for broadcast on Channels’ DSTV network at 4:30pm on Saturday, July 22, 2017.
