Nigerian bourse strengthens further as index rises by 1.66% on Friday
For the second day running, the Nigerian bourse recorded price appreciation on Friday as the market capitalisation as the All-Share Index (NSE ASI) increased by 1.66 per cent, while the year-to-date return stood at 37.38 per cent.
The All-Share Index closed at 36,920.56 against the previous close of 36,316.58 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦12.726 trillion against previous close of ₦12.517 trillion.
Volume traded increased by 5.10 per cent from 225.141 million to 236.619 million, while the total value of stock traded decreased by 12.25 per cent from ₦5.479 billion to ₦4.808 billion in 3,803 deals.
The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 201.123 million shares exchanged for ₦3.362 billion. Consumer Goods came next with 16.485 million shares traded for ₦0.694 billion, Conglomerates, Industrial Goods, Services sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.
Zenithbank, UBA, Guaranty, Fidelitybk and FBNH were the most active stocks by volume. Zenithbank, Guaranty, FCMB, NASCON and Stanbic emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while Custodyins, Okomuoil, Cadbury, UAC-PROP and CCNN topped the losers chart.
