Nigerian bourse down by 1.30% Thursday as investors lose N166bn
Trading activities on The Nigerian Stock Exchange closed in negative territory on Thursday as the market All-Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization decreased by 1.30 per cent while the year-to-date return stood at 36.10 per cent as investors recorded value depreciation of N166 billion.
The All Share Index closed at 36,575.86 against the previous close of 37,059.21 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦12.607 trillion against previous close of ₦12.773 trillion.
Volume traded decreased by 9.88% from 264.287 million to 238.165 million, while the total value of stock traded decreased by 0.70% from ₦5.531 billion to ₦5.492 billion in 4,162 deals.
The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 202.591 million shares exchanged for ₦4.122 billion. Consumer Goods came next with 10.744 million shares traded for ₦0.839 billion, Services, Conglomerates, Oil And Gas sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.
Guaranty, Access, UBA, Zenithbank and FBNH were the most active stocks by volume. UBN, Neimeth, AIICO, Skyebank and UBA emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while MRS, Custodyins, Mobil, Presco and Conoil topped the losers chart.
