Nigerian bourse opens the week 0.33% up
The Nigerian Stock Exchange opened the week transaction on positive territory as All-Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization increased by 0.33 per cent even as the year-to-date return stood at 37.57 per cent.
The All-Share Index closed at 36,971.27 against the previous close of 36,848.17 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦12.726 trillion against previous close of ₦12.684 trillion.
Volume traded increased by 34.68% from 159.613 million to 214.959 million, while the total value of stock traded increased by 21.78% from ₦2.243 billion to ₦2.731 billion in 4,262 deals.
The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 156.208 million shares exchanged for ₦1.884 billion. Conglomerates came next with 31.436 million shares traded for ₦0.055 billion, Consumer Goods, Services, Agriculture sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.
Transcorp, UBA, Guaranty, FCMB and FBNH were the most active stocks by volume. Cileasing, Fidelitybk, Glaxosmith, Nahco and Nascon emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while Learnafrca, Medviewair, Vitafoam, Continsure and NEM topped the losers chart.
