Bear sustains hold on Nigerian bourse, index down 0.91%

The bear maintains its hold on trading activities on the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Wednesday as the market All-Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization decreased by 0.91 per cent while the Year-to-Date return stood at 36.25 per cent.

The All-Share Index closed at 36,617.45 against the previous close of 36,953.41 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦12.673 trillion against previous close of ₦12.789 trillion.

Volume traded decreased by 22.70 per cent from 238.364 million to 184.248 million, while the total value of stock traded decreased by 2.72 per cent from ₦3.417 billion to ₦3.324 billion in 3,590 deals.

The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 134.222 million shares exchanged for ₦1.28 billion. Consumer Goods came next with 21.173 million shares traded for ₦1.82 billion, Conglomerates, Services, Industrial Goods sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.

FBNH, Zenithbank, Fidelitybk, Diamondbnk and UBA were the most active stocks by volume. Aglevent, Redstarex, Learnafrca, Firstalum and Unitybnk emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while Cileasing, PZ, Nascon, Unilever and Fidelitybk topped the losers chart.
