Equities market maintains positive stance as Index gains 0.22%

The Nigerian Equities market maintained its position in the green zone with an All Share Index gain of 0.22 per cent on its previous close of 36,608.76 points to close at 36,688.75 points on Thursday.

Likewise, Market capitalization closed higher at 12.758 trillion naira and market breadth closed bullish with a count of 11 losers as against 32 gainers.

On the sectors’ performance chart, NSE INDUSTR lost 5 points, NSE ASEM maintained its previous close, and all other indices gained on their previous trading levels.

Trade volume and trade value levels have both continue to rise since their only drop in the week so far was recorded after Monday’s trading session.

Trade volume increased by 55.11 per cent to close at 513 million shares from 308 million shares and the value rose by 15.94 per cent to close at N6.44billion from N5.56 billion in the previous session.

UBA topped the volume-based chart with a total of 116 million shares traded while ZENITHBANK amassed a total of 2.24 billion naira from their trades today to top the value-based chart.
