NBA presents policy handbook on 59th bar conference

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) on Thursday presented a policy handbook to commemorate its 59th Annual General Conference held last year in Lagos.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the 59th Annual General Conference of the NBA under the Paul Usoro-led administration was held in August 2019, with the theme “‘Facing the Future”.

The discourse at the conference was diverse with multiple breakout sessions, chaired by reputable senior Nigerian legal practitioners.

In a statement signed by NBA National Assistant Publicity Secretary, Mr Habeeb Akorede, the Association said that the policy handbook from the conference was now completed.

“In an effort towards building institutional memory and to retain the gains of the engagements at the conference in our quest to ‘face the future’, the Paul Usoro (SAN) leadership has deemed it fit to publish and present the Policy Book of the 59th Annual General Conference of the NIBA.

“This policy book has twelve chapters covering the themes of all the showcase and breakout sessions at the conference.

“With a fine degree of conscion, this policy book states the objectives, backgrounds, issues, challenges and recommendations of each and every topic discussed in all the sessions at the 59th Annual General Conference.

“The policy book was adopted and launched by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the NBA at its meeting of 5/12/2019.

“It is our hope that this effort will go a long way in guiding and quickening our steps to a better future for the practice of the legal profession,” he said. (NAN)
