Enugu Chief Judge pledges support to EFCC

The Chief Judge of Enugu State, Justice Priscilla Ngozi Emehelu, has assured the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of the unalloyed support and partnership of the Enugu State Judiciary in its fight against economic and financial crimes.

She gave the assurance on Tuesday, September 2, 2020 while receiving a delegation from the EFCC, led by the zonal head, Oshodi Johnson (fwc), who paid her a courtesy visit in her office.

‘’When you want to build a sane society, organisation like EFCC is not just important but desirable. I want to pledge to you, our continual support and collaboration. “We have no option, seeing that our mandate with yours is the same; to build a better society, and as you rightly pointed out, the society is fast losing its positive values and all hands must be on deck to salvage it’’, she said.

Earlier, Johnson had expressed the Commission’s appreciation for the support given to it by the state’s judiciary.

‘’ As criminals are being emboldened, devising new methods of perpetrating their acts, those who fight them must collaborate even more, to have an egalitarian society we must be proud of”, he said.

He bemoaned the negative economic status of the country, which he attributed mostly to corruption, saying that with collaboration of all stakeholders, the country would bounce back to its former glory.

‘’ I believe, with determination, Nigeria will be better, such that, those young ones who are ready to do anything to travel out could do a rethink”, he said.
