Industrialist canvasses community participation in salvaging primary education

Mr Sanusi Bature, the Public Relations Officer (PRO), Dantata Foods and Allied Products Limited, quoted Dantata as saying this in a statement issued to newsmen in Kano.

The statement said Dantata made the appeal in a speech he delivered at the 50th anniversary of the Bayero University staff primary school held on Tuesday.

An alumnus of the school, Dantata said: “primary education is the foundation for human capital development, hence, no society should allow its basic education sub-sector to suffer.

“I am shocked to see the level of dilapidation of our primary school, which used to be among the best schools in Nigeria. History will not vindicate us as old pupils of this noble school if we allow it to remain in this bad condition.

“I am, therefore, urging all of us to make a serious commitment in supporting this primary school that we all attended to restore its lost glory.

“As our alma-mater, we are the most strategic stakeholders who can give an emergency rescue to the school by immediate renovation, to ensure a conducive teaching and learning atmosphere”. (NAN)
