Fayemi restates commitment to people-oriented policies, at special Juma’at service

Gov. Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti state, on Friday reiterated his adminitration’s commitment to implement programmes and policies that would continue to meet the yearnings of the people of the State.

Fayemi made the commitment in Ado-Ekiti at a special Juma’at prayer and thanksgiving service marking the third anniversary of his administration.

The Governor expressed gratitude to God for the peace and progress recorded in the State, attributing the success story of his administration to God and commended Muslim faithful for their supports and prayers since he assumed office.

Fayemi, also the Chairman of Nigeria’s Governors Forum, said it was the prayers and support of the people that has helped his administration to achieve the milestone recorded in the State.

“We must continue to appreciate God for the success, peace and progress recorded.

“We must not relent in appealing to God to help us to overcome the challenges of the State and that of the country,” he added.

Earlier in his sermon, the grand Imam of Ekiti State and President, League of Imam and Alfas in Southwest, Edo and Delta, Sheikh Jamiu Kewulere, charged people in positions of authority to utilise their posts in contributing positively to the lives of the people and the society at large.

The religious leader also admonished them to exercise the fear of God who installed them into position in their daily dealings.

He charged Muslim faithful at the Jumat service to be weary of their utterances and actions that are capable of undermining the peace of the society.

Kewulere commended Governor Fayemi for achieving milestones in education, health, infrastructural development and also for prioritizing the welfare of the people of the State in spite of economic challenges.

At the Jumat service, prayers were offered for Fayemi, political office holders, Ekiti State Government, the people of the State and Nigeria as a whole.
