NIPR unveils LaPRIGA 2021, to support People living with Autism
The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Lagos State Chapter, says it will be supporting people living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in Nigeria.
The Chairman of the NIPR, Lagos State chapter, Mrs Comfort Nwankwo, made the disclosure at a media briefing to herald its 6th edition of Lagos Public Relations Industry Gala and Awards, the LaPRIGA.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the theme for the 2021 edition is “ GLITTERATI”, and it aims to celebrate the best of the industry and key stakeholders.
According to Nwankwo, NIPR has set aside a percentage of proceeds from the Lagos Public Relations Industry Gala and Awards (LaPRIGA) event annually.
She said that this is to support its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative tagged, ‘Extra Mile Project’, in support of people living with ASD.
She said that the LaPRIGA Awards had evolved to become the Communications Industry Oscars, a prestigious high-profile event showcasing and recognising excellence in public relations practice in public and private sector.
“It is a night of elegance, joy, class and celebrations exclusively for the communications industry with most influential stakeholders.
“The event will take place at the D’Podium International Event Centre, Ikeja, Lagos, Saturday, Dec. 18, 2021.”
According to Nwankwo, no fewer than 25 honourees from public relations consultancies, practitioners, stakeholders and the media will also smile away with the prestigious LaPRIGA Figurine in different categories.
The chairman disclosed that nominees were voted for by members of the institute.
She added that the LAPRIGA has consistently recognised corporate organisations for their extraordinary acts of giving, sharing and loving which has made demonstrable difference in host communities and in the lives of specific persons.
‘’These prizes are administered by the advisory board of LAPRIGA made up of individuals with impeccable character and requisite academic and professional accomplishments,’’ she said.
Also speaking, Mrs Victoria Uwadoka, Chairman, Planning Committee, called on organisations to leverage the platform to deepen the relationship with the communication community to boost their brand image.
