Investors on NGX gained N318bn on Wednesday

Investors gained N318 billion in Wednesday session on the NGX as the Market Capitalization closing the day trading sessionat N25.073 trillion, a 1.28 per cent increase from the N27.755 trillion it stood at the end of the previous trading session.

The NGXASI inched up further by 1.29 per cent to peg the ASI at 46,529.99bps. This outing pushed both the month-to-date and year-to-date outings of the All-Share Index also to stand at 8.93 per cent.

Bulls’and bear’s camps dominated the market breadth with 19 counters apiece.AIRTELAFRI gained 10.00 per cent to become the best five performing stock in the session. It is flanked by ETI, COURTVILLE, ACADEMY, and LEARNAFRCA to
complete the list of the top five gainers.

From the rear of the chart, CADBURY sheds the most weight to lead the laggards’ chart as it is flanked by PRESTIGE,
CHAMPION, LINKASSURE, and NEIMETH to complete the top losers’ chart.

All sectorial indices closed in opposite direction with the ASI save for NGXCGthat gained 0.13 per cent, while NGXGROWTH and NGX ASEM closed flat.

Market activity as measured by both volume and value gained weight in the session with daily traded volume standing at 329mn units, representing a 32.82 per cent increase from a volume of 248mn units traded in the previous session.

Value of traded stocks inched up by 34.66 per cent in the session to stand at N4.817 billion as against a value of N3.577bn recorded in the previous trading session. GTCO dominated the volume charts as the top traded stock by volume for the trading session. This is followed by MBENEFIT, GTCO, CHAMS, and NB to complete the list of the five most traded stocks by volume.

With regards to the value of traded stocks, MTNN took the lead of the top five performers as well. It is flanked by GTCO, NB, AIRTELAFRI, and lastly SEPLAT.
