 Ibarapaland now secured for farming, businesses –Makinde

Oyo state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, Saturday said Ibarapaland area of the state is now safe for farming and other businesses to thrive.

He made the assertion while speaking in Igbo-Ora at this year’s annual World Twins Festival, organised by Igbo-Ora community, Twins World Creations and Oyo state government, stating that his administration has been able to turn around the security situation in the area.

Makinde added that the people of Ibarapaland area of Oyo state now go to farms with their mind at rest while others go about their daily businesses and endeavours in peace.

“We used to have security challenges in Ibarapaland before, but it is now a thing of the past as our people now go to farms with their minds at rest while others go about their daily businesses and endeavours in peace,” he said

He added, “Before we got into government, there was nothing like Amotekun, but we created the security outfit and I believe you can see them right in front of us in this event.”

Makinde said with the security situation in Ibarapaland, his administration is committed into putting in place adequate infrastructure, which will help tourism to gain foothold in the area.
