Police confirm three dead in Oyo PDP, APC clash

 

The Oyo State Police Command confirmed on Friday that three persons died in a clash between supporters of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress(APC) on Thursday in Ibadan.

The clash was said to have taken place at Ile-Tuntun area in Ibadan South East Local Government.

Oyo Police spokesman, Adewale Osifeso, while calling-in on a programme on Fresh FM Ibadan, said the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (CID) has been mandated to lead investigating team to the scene of the incident.

According to him, investigation was ongoing and people will be updated soon.

He said: “Oyo state is the cradle of sophistication and the world is watching, we should not continue to live in a trajectory of known for hooliganism.

“Election will come and go but people will be there. Parents and guardians should prevail on their wards against being used to scuttle the electoral process because heavy sanction will be melted on them.”
