Shehu Sani Alleges:  Buhari setting trap for Tinubu with last-minute engagements

A former Kaduna Central senator, Shehu Sani, has alleged that President Muhammadu Buhari’s last-minute engagements is a trap for the Presidential-Elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Ahead of the May 29th handover to Tinubu, Buhari has been commissioning some projects.

Buhari on Tuesday inaugurated seven legacy projects completed by the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing across the country.

The projects include three major Bridges, three Federal Secretariats and a road.

But according to Sani during his interview with Arise TV, it is only a trap for the incoming president, Tinubu.

“President Muhammadu Buhari’s last-minute ‘engagement’ is a trap for the Bola Tinubu administration,” Sani said.

“The award of contracts, sourcing of loans and mass employment at the twilight of his administration cannot be said to be done with good intentions.”

Meanwhile, Sani on Tuesday called out Buhari for uncompleted projects ahead of his bowing out of office next Monday.

“Let it be on record that the Abuja to Kaduna and Kano roads are uncompleted,” he tweeted.

“If the President is commissioning it, he is commissioning an uncompleted project.

“I can recall that Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (GEJ) was denied the Railways glory because he couldn’t complete it.”

The former Nigerian federal lawmaker also spoke about the United States (US) President, Joe Biden’s decision to send a delegation to attend the swearing in of Tinubu as Nigeria’s next president.

“The US has diplomatic and business relations with Nigeria. The US Sending a delegation for the swearing in of Asiwaju is in the spirit of that,” he said.

“Their message is that the contention about our election is more of our problem and not their problem.”

Tinubu will be sworn in on Monday, May 29, 2023 at the Eagles Square in Abuja to succeed the outgoing president, Buhari.
