NECO blacklists 93 schools, 52 supervisors for exam malpractices

The National Examination Council (NECO) has blacklisted 52 examination supervisors and 93 schools for various exam malpractices such as mass cheating, poor supervision, aiding and abetting cheating during the conduct of last Senior School Certificate Examinations whose results were released on Tuesday.

Formally declaring the release of the results of the 2023 Senior School Certificate Examinations (SSCE) internals, the council Registrar, Prof Dantana Wushishi said the schools and supervisors were found to have been involved in the various exams malpractices during the conduct of the examination.

While releasing the results before newsmen at the Council’s Headquarters in Minna, the Council Registrar, said 737,308 candidates, representing 61.60 per cent, made five credits, including Mathematics and English Language.

Prof. Wushishi said of the 1,205,888 candidates that registered for the examination, only 1,196,985 sat for it, adding that of the total candidates that sat for the examination, 616,398 were males and 580,587 females.

He also disclosed that the number of candidates who made five credits and above irrespective of English Language and Mathematics is 1,013,611 representing 84.60 per cent.
