Eulogies rain as Ogunje set to unveil Beyond Work Experience: Hidden Life Lessons in Employment

Eulogies have continued to pouring in as Mr. Tunde Ogunje, a seasoned investment expert and Chattered Accountant of repute, is set to unveil BEYOND WORK EXPERIENCE: HIDDEN LIFE LESSONS IN EMPLOYMENT, come Saturday, November 11th, 2023.

In his invitation to the book launch taking place online this Saturday, the author states:  “I am really very glad and thankful to God to be witnessing the fulfillment of this life ambition. I am counting on friends, brothers, sisters, and mentors like yourself to make the event successful”.

Here are some of the things those who has had the privilege of going through the book are saying about it.

  1. Reading the book was like having a conversation with a supportive mentor, encouraging me to be true to myself, break through the noise and discover what the best path is for me. It helped me gain important perspective about where my motivation and priorities should be when it comes to work, and how to avoid common pitfalls. Many chapters outlined practical considerations I wish I’d learned earlier in my career. I learned lessons from Tunde’s employment journey that I can employ in my own professional development.

  1. “BEYOND WORK EXPERIENCE” is a resonant walk through the intricate tapestry of employment and its intertwined life lessons. Reading it was like a heartfelt revisit to many pivotal moments in my own professional journey, both triumphant and challenging. Tunde masterfully captures the nuances of the workplace and its impact on our larger existence, especially in the wake of recent global events. The pandemic, for many, was an introspective period, prompting us to reflect on life’s purpose and meaning.

Tunde’s portrayal is poignant, drawing connections between spirituality, well-being, education, and professional evolution. This book is not merely about navigating the workplace; it’s about understanding its place in our holistic development. It’s a must-read for young individuals on the cusp of their careers, offering them a compass to navigate the uncharted waters of professional life.

Congratulations, Tunde, for crafting such a compelling narrative. Your insights are invaluable.

  1. Well done, Tunde!

You are VERY visual in your writing style – lots of intricate and inspiring imagery and choice of words – this makes for a thought-provoking and dynamic reading experience. I enjoy that the book is written to be inclusive of the reader AND the writer – there are lots of mentions of ‘us’ and ‘we’; and by using your own stories to narrate the lessons learned, it makes the book much more personal.

Though each chapter has its own lessons, there are central themes that are reinforced throughout the book – this really helps to imprint the lessons on one’s brain. At the same time, I really appreciate that each chapter is, in fact, filled with new thoughts.  I have read FAR too many self-help/professional development books where there are, really, only a few lessons shared, and the book becomes annoyingly repetitive!  After reading 100+ pages you can sum-up the whole book in 2 or 3 sentences, and I ask myself why I bothered to read the whole thing in the first place, lol.

Your writing is different; there is consistency in the messaging, but each chapter introduces something new for consideration. Awesome!

I am ABSOLUTELY going to have both of my boys read your book!  There as so many valuable lessons in there – you are one of the wisest people I’ve ever met; honestly.  This is fantastic work, Tunde!

  1. The lessons in this book are truly beyond work experience. The start of the book describes a process for choosing when there are multiple options.  It describes a procedure for decision making where the focus is not on money or any other immediate gain but on the long-term benefits that the decision will bring.  It takes a disciplined mind not to be short-sighted and settle for appealing options.

  1. Tunde speaks beautifully from experience. Through each chapter, it becomes increasingly clear these are the words of someone who has navigated their own journey of transformation — not only the ups and downs of work, but the complexities of life that come along with it. His gift is the ability to pull that journey into digestible, thoughtful and authentic lessons for any reader — whether just starting out or at a turning point in their career. Thank you for sharing these wonderful insights and this glimpse into your journey.”

  1. The Author has skillfully squeezed all the eight lessons into the 64-page very rich book. The book is put together in lucid narrative laced with carefully articulated practical life experiences captured in sincere prose. This book is indeed a manual for employees and employers, Mentees and Mentors alike. The Author deliberately personalised his experiences and encounters in order to effectively drive home the important lessons learnt.

As a player in the life dramas captured in the book, I can’t but be taken aback with every narrative concerning me and I believe others also. Thus, reading through has provided the answers to some of the many issues that I couldn’t understand about the Author then. Take for instance, I often wondered why the Author would leave a paid job I secured with my friend for him without a replacement.  It was more intriguing when I knew that he was married with a young daughter and another baby expected some months thereafter. I thought that was reckless and annoying but reading through the book, I discovered the intensity of the Author’s focus and drive to achieve predetermined goals. The Author literally succeeded in converting all his challenges to opportunities through unrivalled focus, commitment, discipline and immense patience.

Indeed, there are more than eight hidden lessons to learn in this book. Rather numerous lessons that span not just workplace experiences but other facets of life such as family, faith and relationships management.

Order than some narrations being too detailed and verbose such as the issue of refusal to take the office keys home and the repair of the auction bought car for the MD, which could have been captured in shorter narrative; the free-flowing prose style adopted by the Author made the Book easy to read, delightful to assimilate and practical to identify with in real life situations.

I couldn’t put the book aside until I had completely read it to the last page in one sweep.

It is a pure literary delight in content and style, and I hereby recommend this book to all those who seek direction and focus in life.
