Breaking News:  Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Igboho, returns to Nigeria

Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Igboho, a prominent Yoruba Nation activist, has returned to Nigeria for the burial of his mother.

The announcement was made by Igboho’s spokesman, Olayomi Koiki, through a statement and a video on social media.

In the video, Igboho was seen at a mortuary, and Koiki confirmed that the activist was on his way to Igboho Town for the final burial of his mother, Mrs. S.A. Adeyemo.

Igboho had been out of Nigeria since 2021, seeking refuge in Benin Republic after being declared wanted by the Department of State Services (DSS) over alleged terrorism charges.

Igboho faced legal challenges in Benin Republic, where he was arrested while attempting to travel to Germany. After spending two years in a Beninese prison, he recently regained his freedom.

Igboho’s activism centers around the agitation for the Yoruba Nation and his outspoken stance against attacks on farmers in the Southwest.

The DSS had declared him wanted, accusing him of being involved in activities that posed a threat to national security.
