Nigerian Army reacts to explosion at Mogadishu Cantonment, Abuja

The Nigerian Army has reacted to the explosion which rocked the Mogadishu Cantonment popularly known as Abacha Barracks on Monday, May 26.

In a post made on X, the Nigerian Army said the situation is currently under control.

The Army, however, did not give details of the cause of the explosion.

“Explosion at Bus Stop Opposite Mogadishu Cantonment Abuja. Situation Under Control. Details Later,” Army wrote on X.

Sources privy to the incident had earlier stated that a suspected suicide bomber tried to gain access into the barrack.

It was also gathered that the suspected suicide bomber was killed in the process while a bystander was injured in the incident.
