Akinbade bags Leadership Award
Alhaji Fatai Akinbade, a former Secretary to the Osun State Government,has been bestowed with an award of *Leadership and Love for People With Special Needs* by the Federal Government College of Education, Oyo.
The award programme which took place on Tuesday during the maiden National Conference on Early Childhood Care, Primary Adult and Non-Formal Education, themed; Basic Qualitative Education for Sustainable Development was held on the College campus as graced by participants and dignitaries from across the country.
The programme was anchored by the Dean of the School of Early Childhood Care, Primary, Adult And Non- Formal Education (ECPAE) ,Mrs A.F Opoola
According to her, Akinbade, a leading contender in the state governorship race on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, was honoured because of his sterling leadership qualities and his humanitarian services in the society.
“All awardees of today, were carefully selected devoid any of primordial sentiments. All of them have been so honoured purely on merit. This, we believe, will further help them not to rest on their oars. To us, it’s a kind of further challenge to them not to relent in serving humanity in their different callings” she said
Other awardees include the former Defense Minister, Erelu Olusola Obada,erstwhile Speaker,House of Representatives, Rt Hon Foluke Etteh, and a serving member of the House of Representatives, Hon Wole Oke.
Also, the following were honoured with different awards; Dr. B. T. Opoola, Professor R. O. Bakare, Mr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim and Hon. Muideen O. Olagunju.
