2019 presidency: Atiku speaks about his running mate, Peter Obi

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, on Thursday described his running mate, Peter Obi as an honest man, adding that the former Anambra Governor is reputed for his very high sense of fiscal responsibility and transparency while in governance.

This was as Abubakar vowed to “galvanize all efforts to liberate the nation from the shackles of hunger, deprivations, killing, and divisiveness” if elected President in 2019.

The former vice president gave the assurance while speaking at a meeting with members of the PDP National Working Committee, NWC, in Abuja, as reported in a statement issued by the spokesperson of PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan.

Stressing that his “expected victory” in 2019 would be a victory for the people, the Wazirin Adamawa commended Nigerians for their commitment and sacrifices toward rescuing the nation from misrule, adding that such sacrifices will not be in vain.

According to him, “Our aim is to work very hard and collectively liberate our nation from the shackles of hunger, starvation, deprivation, bloodletting, killings and division which bedevil us today. We must all work hard to return our nation to the path of harmony, peace and progress.”

The PDP presidential candidate also assured of a “new template for fiscal responsibility and productivity in all critical sectors of our national life”.

He equally pointed out that he has a “running mate that was honest and reputed to have a very high sense of fiscal responsibility and transparency in governance.”
