Yuletide: Tinubu urges Nigerians to love one another, eschew hate

All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader,  Sen. Bola Tinubu, has  urged Nigerians especially christian faithful to devote their time to reflect on the lessons of peace, truth, kindness and compassion that described the life and teachings of Jesus.

Tinubu gave the advice in a statement signed by his  Media Adviser, Mr Tunde Rahman in Lagos on Tuesday.

He said while people across Nigeria celebrated the birth of Jesus Christ, they should love one another, despite their differences.

“While celebrating this holy day, we are to love one another despite any difference between us and eschew hatred.

“Jesus  taught that we came into existence to live for a purpose greater than ourselves.

” Jesus loved and gave his life to better and save mankind,” he said

The APC leader said that no matter the faith one might profess, what Jesus taught was universal, for all peoples and for all times.

“This season is an opportunity for all of us to be thankful for God’s blessings in our lives.

“Let us ask for His help, that the light of progress and good may forever shine upon and sustain our precious nation.

“As we mark this day, let us do so in a way that comports with the spirit of Jesus,” Tinubu said.

He advised that in the spirit of Christmas, “we must extend ourselves to those who are poor, weak, and feel left behind so that they might not lose hope on this day of eternal hope.”

“May the ways and teachings of Jesus guide us to make for a better Nigeria.

“May we celebrate this day by showing love for our brothers and sisters  as well as extending compassion to a needy stranger.

“I wish you all a merry Christmas and the best to Nigeria.” (NAN)
