NNPC issues public warning over fraudulent representation claims

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has issued a stern warning to the public, cautioning individuals and companies falsely claiming to represent the corporation.

These impostors have been reportedly soliciting fees from unsuspecting parties for meetings with NNPC’s board of directors, executives, and management staff, actions that are entirely unauthorized and illegal.

In a press statement signed by NNPC’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, the company emphasized the importance of vigilance, particularly urging foreign investors and international business entities to exercise caution when approached with such solicitations. The company insists that all legitimate business engagements occur exclusively through official NNPC channels or designated business units.

Members of the public who encounter suspicious approaches are therefore encouraged to report these incidents immediately to the relevant authorities to help curb these fraudulent activities.

NNPC in the statement reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, integrity, and the protection of all stakeholders in every interaction. For further inquiries or to report suspicious activities, the public can contact NNPC directly at contactus@nnpcgroup.com.

The company concluded the notice with a call to action: “Let’s work together to prevent scams. Stay alert and share this notice.”
